Averyl’s first camera, a Nikon FG-20, was gifted to her by her father at age 13. She joined a photography club in New York City in the 1970s, worked the counter at Hirsch Photo during one summer break in the 80s, and developed her camera rolls into black and white photos in her Upper East Side school’s darkroom. Today she enjoys using digital photography to capture the wild world around her in Maine.
